From September 2017 through June 2020, I participated in my high school's Peer-to-Peer program as a tutor and mentor to students in need of help with their homework assignments. My duties and responsibilities included: 1. Conducting one-on-one peer tutoring and mentoring to enhance the educational experience of students; 2. Tailoring my tutoring style and strategies to accommodate the needs of each student; 3. Providing clarification on lectures and notes, answering questions, and employing creative ways of explaining various concepts; 4. Helping students solve difficult homework problems; 5. Encouraging students to become more motivated in their schoolwork by offering positive reinforcement and inspiring confidence and trust.
I Love Tutoring Because
I want to make a positive impact on helping and supporting other students in developing their learning skills, expanding their knowledge base, and enhancing their academic capabilities. Working as a tutor will also strengthen my communication and leadership skills and my ability to adapt these skills to individual students and their needs.
