Career Experience
My experience covers all things English, reading, and writing! I've taught English as a foreign language, reading comprehension, and formal/academic writing as well as informal writing in Slovakia and Portugal. I also work as a freelance writer and editor, helping people with their college essays, websites, personal biographies and personal statements, blogs, light translation, public speaking, digital content creation, and more!
I Love Tutoring Because
Learning is often difficult and frustrating, and no one should be embarrassed to ask for more help! Everyone learns and understands in their own unique way, and it can be hard for a person to fully understand a concept when you’re in a class of 20 or more students. This is especially true if you have ADHD (like me) or any other condition where your learning style isn’t necessarily compatible with the way a typical classroom runs. I love working with people of all ages to help them get that “click” of understanding, develop deep comprehension, and feel confident in their knowledge and abilities. I’ve benefitted from tutoring, myself. When I was in high school, math was something I just couldn't wrap my brain around easily, and I was constantly getting individual help before and after school from my math teacher. So, as someone whose area of strength is English/Language/Writing, I want to be able to help others with these subjects the way my math teacher helped me.
