Career Experience
Before retiring and moving house in 2021, I taught math and interdisciplinary science to undergraduates for 14 years. My primary teaching focus was to make math and science accessible to students who were not planning a career in those fields, because in today's world, everyone needs a basic understanding of math, science and critical thinking. As a result of witnessing the mental health struggles experienced by students (my own and others), I also went back to graduate school in my early 50s to study mental health counseling, and now see clients as a mental health and wellness coach in addition to tutoring.
I Love Tutoring Because
I can use my unique background to help students who struggle for various reasons, or those who simply want to do their best. I see the student as a whole person, not just a problem to be solved.
