Career Experience
My experience in Earth Sciences has been incredibly diverse and enriching, encompassing a wide range of disciplines that have deepened my understanding and passion for the natural world. In mineralogy, I've developed a keen eye for classifying and identifying minerals, which has been instrumental in understanding Earth's composition and processes. In structural geology courses I've honed my skills in analyzing rock deformation and interpreting geological structures, providing valuable insights into Earth's tectonic processes. Lithology has been a fundamental part of my journey, allowing me to delve into the origins and formation of different rock types, which has been crucial for unraveling Earth's history and geological evolution. In volcanology I've delved into the formation of volcanoes, their eruptions, and associated hazards, offering a glimpse into the powerful forces at work beneath Earth's surface. I have spent a month traveling across the west coast of the US to look at varying volcanic formations, including Yellowstone, Mt. Rainier, Crater Lake, and Mt. Lassen. I have a broad understanding of geophysics and using seismic tools for remediation processes. Other areas I am skilled in include geomorphology, geological field work, and hydrology. My journey in Earth Sciences has been a fulfilling one, enriching my understanding of our planet and inspiring me to continue exploring and contributing to this fascinating field. I am currently employed as an associate geospatial analyst, where I interpret topographical and landcover data for federal government agencies.
