School's environmental commitment 1:
Due to COVID and the logistical difficulties of moving into our newest building on campus during the pandemic, the Anderson Sustainability Team (AST), comprised of students, staff and faculty, to launch initiatives to increase UCLA Anderson?s sustainability efforts, was put on hold last year. This year, the team is working more collaboratively with UCLA Sustainability to focus our efforts on waste reduction and increasing our energy efficiency within our campus buildings. This focus aligns with the UCLA-wide Policy on Sustainable Practices that covers all aspects of the way the campus operates, including but not limited to: green building design, clean energy, climate protection, sustainable transportation, sustainable building operations, zero waste, sustainable procurement, sustainable food systems, sustainable water systems. The School is still developing a Sustainability Master Plan. See https://policy.ucop.edu/doc/3100155/SustainablePractices and https://www.sustain.ucla.edu/plan/
School's environmental commitment 2:
On behalf of UCLA Anderson, the Center for Impact@Anderson, applied to be a signatory member of the United Nation?s Principles of Responsible Management Education, a global network of business schools committed to promoting and executing ethical and sustainable business education to their MBA students. UCLA Anderson will have access to resources and tools that will help us integrate UN Sustainable Development Goals into our curriculum: goals such as 6) clean water and sanitation, 7) affordable and clean energy, 11) sustainable cities and communities, and 13) climate action.
School's environmental commitment 3:
UCLA Anderson is also working to renew our Green Business Certificate in the State of California, which expires every two years, and recognizes businesses that operates in a more environmentally responsible or sustainable manner according to standards established by the California Green Business Network. Once we receive the certificate, we can have access to free and ongoing environmental consultation, information about potential rebates, reducing utility costs, and tools to continue improving employee health and well-being.
