Career Experience
I have run an in-home tutoring business, tutoring math to students from 2nd grade through college including students with learning disabilities, for the past 40 years, and I taught and tutored mathematics in college, including calculus, precalculus, algebra II, statistics, and geometry, for 19 years till my retirement.
I Love Tutoring Because
I love the opportunity to help students find out how smart they really are, how much they really do know and how capable they are of learning more. I love it when a student has that "aha!" moment when they get it and it totally makes sense to them. I love it when a student learns to take mistakes and even a poor grade as the chance to learn and grow, rather than as a judgement on themselves.
